We are committed to providing outstanding guest service from the day we open our doors in the spring to the moment the last guest of the season departs in autumn.  With more than 2 million guests per summer, the season is fast-paced and challenging.  We are here to ensure that each guest leaves Waterton-Glacier with memories that will last a lifetime.

Dates of employment vary based on job location.  Our facilities open as early as mid-May and as late as mid-June, with closing dates sometime between Labor Day and the end of September.  Candidates who are available for the entire season will be given preference when being considered for a position.



Work Week:
A typical work week in Waterton-Glacier is 5 days on and 2 days off.  Because of the nature of our business, we do not adhere to a normal Monday – Friday schedule.   

All employees must be willing to work 40 hours per week, however, some positions will vary based on time of season and guest traffic.  Employees typically work between 32 and 40 hours per week.

Employees should be willing to work a variety of shifts, including morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.  Flexibility is key.



Compensation:
Wages are varied depending on position, however most positions are entry level and are paid minimum wage in both the U.S. and Canada.  2013 minimum wage is $7.80 per hour in Montana (U.S.) and $9.05 / $9.75 per hour in Alberta (Canada).  Some minimum wage positions are hourly + tour gratuity (Tour gratuities are additional monies paid through the first 40 hours of work each week.  Tour gratuities are based on tour group volume for the 2013 season and will be finalized shortly before your arrival).

Managers receive complimentary Meals & Lodging.

All employees are paid on a bi-weekly schedule.  Because of the remote nature of our properties, direct deposit of paychecks is recommended.  Glacier Park, Inc. does not cash paychecks.



Uniform / Appearance:
We expect all employees to take pride in their appearance.  Our standards are conservative and strictly enforced.

Position-specific uniforms are required and must be maintained by the employee for a clean and neat appearance at all times.  Most positions require the employee to furnish some portion of the uniform (specific information provided at time of hire).

All employees must maintain clean hairstyles that are neatly cut, styled and of natural color.  Extremes such as dreadlocks and mohawks are prohibited.

Employees may have fully grown in, well-maintained facial hair not to exceed ¼ inch in length.  All facial hair must maintain an overall neat, polished and professional appearance.  Extreme styles are not permitted.  

Employees without a mustache, goatee or beard are expected to be clean-shaven every day.

Limited piercings and tattoos are permissible – no on-duty body piercing or excessive ear piercings.  Spacers and gauged earrings larger than gauge #2 are not permitted.  Excessive or offensive tattoos must be covered for work.



Background Checks:
Glacier Park, Inc. is committed to maintaining a safe and hospitable environment for our guests and employees.  All employees must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.



Drugs & Alcohol:
Glacier Park, Inc. is committed to making a significant and sustainable impact on ending alcohol and drug abuse/misuse amongst our employees.  If you choose to abuse alcohol, engage in excessive drinking, or the use of illegal substances, we ask that you do not consider coming to work for Glacier Park, Inc.

The legal drinking age in Montana (USA) is 21.  The legal drinking age in Canada is 19.  Underage drinking will not be tolerated and is enforced by Park Rangers, Glacier Park, Inc. management and security.

All facilities are smoke-free.  Designated smoking areas are provided.



Housing Deposit:
Glacier Park, Inc. requires a $100 housing deposit due upon acceptance of a job offer for all employees who will occupy company facilities (exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Director of Human Resources).
